Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) had assigned the task to the AVCC on August 27, following a rise in child abduction cases in the city. In response, special teams were formed under the supervision of the SSP and DSP (Operations & Investigation), who carried out operations using technical evidence and human intelligence. The police have arrested three suspects in connection with the abductions. They have been identified as Muhammad Akhtar, son of Afzal, Muhammad Rashid, son of Ismail, and Ali, son of Arshad Masih. The suspects are currently under investigation.
The AVCC has stated that efforts are ongoing to dismantle any networks involved in these abductions, and further arrests may follow based on leads obtained during the current investigation.
