DI KHAN:

Unknown assailants carried out an explosion using explosives inside a government girls’ primary school in Wanda Zaid Gul, Baikhel Wazir area within the jurisdiction of Dvywala police station, Lakki district.

According to details, the blast caused severe damage to the school building but fortunately resulted in no casualties. The explosion spread panic among residents of the area.
Locals condemned the incident, terming it a cowardly act by extremists, saying it reflected the mindset of those opposed to education, particularly for girls, and was a failed attempt to deprive them of learning opportunities.

Separately, security forces in South Waziristan’s Wana foiled a major terror attempt by defusing an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on key routes in Dana Algad and Karamzai.
According to sources, the forces received intelligence that explosives had been planted along the main highway. The area was immediately cordoned off and a search operation was launched, during which the IED was successfully neutralized.

The timely action not only averted potential loss of civilian lives but also restored the flow of traffic, helping life in the region return to normal.
