Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce are officially engaged, and the spotlight has quickly shifted to her dazzling engagement ring.
The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, playfully captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
According to jewelry expert Benjamin Khordipour of New York-based Estate Diamond Jewelry, Swift’s ring is an “antique elongated cushion” diamond weighing approximately eight carats. He estimates the value at around $550,000, noting its rarity and craftsmanship. The Victorian-inspired piece features a yellow gold mounting, needlepoint prongs, diamond shoulders, and intricate engravings.
“This is really something amazing,” Khordipour said, calling it one of the most unique rings he has seen this year. Large antique cushion-cut diamonds of this size are exceptionally rare, which significantly increases both their desirability and price.
Kelce reportedly worked with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry to design the custom piece, opting for an antique style that aligns with Swift’s distinctive aesthetic. “She’s very unique, very alternative, so this makes complete sense,” Khordipour added.
Swift’s engagement look also drew attention—she wore a striped Ralph Lauren halter dress, Louis Vuitton heeled sandals, and a Cartier diamond-encrusted watch during the flower-filled celebration.
Experts say her choice reflects a growing trend of antique and vintage-inspired engagement rings, recently seen on stars like Zendaya and Lily Collins. For fans, it’s not just a love story—it’s a glimpse at one of the year’s most talked-about celebrity rings.
