The Pakistan Combat Night 2025 kick-off matches on Friday were packed with action as the fighters battled for their place in the semifinals, to be held on August 23 at Brave Gym in Lahore.
Seven fighters from Balochistan, seven from Islamabad, five from Sindh, nine from Punjab, and seven from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The bouts in seven categories were decided on Friday, while the most intense one was in the 56 kg flyweight event, when a KP fighter, Faizan, had to be taken to the National Hospital DHA Lahore with a fracture in his hand.

Faizan was fighting Islamabad's Mohiz Bhatti, who booked his place in the semifinal with Abdul Rehman from Balochistan.
Abdul Rehman outplayed Muhammad Ali in his quarterfinal.
"Faizan was treated at the hospital with utmost care. He is stable, but his fracture was in the left arm, near the elbow joint," event partners ACTIVIT and National Hospital DHA Lahore official Muhammad Ali told The Express Tribune as he was taking care of the organising matters and the injured athletes.
ns"Faizan received immediate care, including painkillers, relaxants, and first aid, but surgery will provide the permanent solution.
"We informed his coach, and athlete care requires certain protocols, and one must consider their career. So the decision would, ultimately, be with Faizan and his coach. The plates need to be put on his arm. There must be consultations with other doctors, too.
"The placement of metal plates in the joints can jeopardise the career of the athlete, and healing from this injury might take five to six months, depending on the individual.
"This is going to be a crucial point for Faizan, and every option ensuring that he can fight again."
In other bouts of the 56.7 kg category, Sindh's 2 Baz Muhammad defeated Nazar from Punjab. He will fight Islamabad's Muhib Ullah in the semifinal.
In the Strawweight 52.2KG men's event, Islamabad's Abdul Manan will take on Punjab's Nehal Khan.
Manan got a bye, while Nehal outsmarted Hamid Rehman of KP.
Balochistan's Bismillah will fight Tayab on Saturday. They got byes in their quarterfinals.
