Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah chaired a meeting and reviewed measures for improving law and order and strengthening the investigative capacity of the police.
The meeting decided to recruit 2,000 ASIs (Investigation) to modernise and reinforce the investigation system.
The chief secretary said that strengthening the investigation branch had been a longstanding challenge for the Sindh police. He emphasised that investigation is a crucial component of policing and must be adequately equipped to ensure justice is served.
He added that the recruitment of ASIs is a significant step to address this gap and improve investigative capacity. Shah further emphasised that strengthening the investigative capacity of the police would help restore public confidence, improve access to justice, and play a role in crime prevention.
IG Sindh mentioned that the induction of new ASIs would enhance the quality of investigation and ensure prompt action against criminal elements.
The meeting was attended by IG Sindh, Ghulam Nabi Memon, Secretary Services, Ghulam Ali Brahmani, and other senior officials.
