RAWALPINDI:

Two people died while four others suffered injuries in four separate incidents in different parts of Rawalpindi.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, two people fell into a well while attempting to rescue the buffalo in Garhi Afghanan, Taxila Tehsil. Upon receiving the information, rescue teams arrived at the site and pulled both individuals out of the well, providing first aid before transferring them to the hospital. One of the injured was in stable condition, while the other was in critical condition and required CPR before being moved to the hospital. However, 20-year-old Zahoor succumbed to his injuries, while 38-year-old Bilal was injured.

The rescue operation involved eight personnel and three emergency vehicles. Residents said that the well was old and dry, with accumulated gases inside, which worsened the condition of those who entered.

In the other incident, an 80-year-old man was swept away while crossing Nullah Lang on Kahuta Road in Kallar Syedan. Rescue divers and staff searched until sunset but could not trace the man.
