Rumours that Roblox will permanently shut down on September 1 have been circulating online, but the company has not issued any official confirmation.

The speculation began after posts appeared on X claiming players had received an “official announcement” message when logging into Roblox.

The message stated: “After careful consideration, we have decided to permanently shut down our platform. This decision comes as a direct response to overwhelming popular demand, alongside growing concerns about safety and security… Effective September 1st, the platform will no longer be available.”

While the message appeared authentic to some users, no such notice has been consistently reproduced by others, and no official statement has been issued by Roblox on its website or verified social channels.

Instead, the company continues to post regular updates and announcements regarding features and in-game events, suggesting that operations are continuing as normal.

Concerns about the platform’s future come amid ongoing discussions around child safety. Earlier this year, Predator Hunter Schlep was banned, and fans launched a petition calling for the removal of Roblox CEO David Baszucki. The petition has drawn widespread attention, fuelling speculation about the company’s stability.

Despite these controversies, Roblox remains one of the most popular online gaming platforms, with millions of active users playing titles such as Blox Fruits, Grow a Garden, and Steal a Brainrot. The platform has previously faced similar shutdown rumours, all of which were later debunked.

At present, players’ Robux, games, and accounts remain unaffected. Unless Roblox issues an official confirmation, the platform is expected to continue without interruption. Fans concerned about the legitimacy of the shutdown claim are advised to rely only on official Roblox announcements.
