Flash flood damages crops in Bahawalpur

Damaged around 40 acres of cotton, maize, and other crops

BAHAWALPUR:

Flash floods from the Sutlej River damaged standing crops in Baqirpur following a breach in the riverbank. Officials reported over 17,000 cusecs of water flowing beneath Empress Bridge, classifying the flood as medium-level.

The floodwaters entered fields on the outskirts of Bahawalpur, damaging around 40 acres of cotton, maize, and other crops.

No casualties were reported. Rescue 1122 teams reached the site, while the Deputy Commissioner's office warned residents in low-lying areas to remain alert as more water is expected.
