Kevin Federline is finally telling his side of the story. Nearly two decades after his whirlwind relationship with Britney Spears captured the world’s attention, Federline is releasing his debut memoir, You Thought You Knew, set to launch on October 21, 2025.

Described as 'extremely intimate and transparent,” the memoir will explore Federline’s journey from backup dancer to full-blown tabloid obsession. He promises to share the emotional truths behind his meteoric rise, high-profile marriage, and ongoing challenges in the spotlight. “If you’ve ever had questions, you’ll find answers here,” he says.

The book covers his early life in Fresno, California, his move to Nevada after his parents’ divorce, and his start in the entertainment industry. He went from dancing behind artists like Michael Jackson and Destiny’s Child to being thrust into the limelight after marrying Spears in 2004. Their tumultuous relationship, which included two children and a very public divorce, dominated headlines for years.

Since then, Federline has largely stayed quiet, choosing to focus on raising his six children, two with Spears and four from other relationships. But the silence came at a cost. In this memoir, he reflects on the pain of having his story told for him, often inaccurately, and the strain of shielding his family from the chaos.

The release comes nearly two years after Britney’s own bestselling memoir, The Woman in Me, which painted a vivid picture of her life, including her time with Federline. Now, he’s stepping forward with his perspective, aiming to offer clarity, closure, and perhaps a little redemption.

Told through audio-first storytelling, the memoir promises a raw and personal account from a man long reduced to a headline.
