Track star Christian Coleman has publicly addressed the recent arrest of his girlfriend, fellow sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson, following an alleged domestic dispute.
In a video shared by Citius Mag on Instagram on August 3, Coleman called the incident “a sucky situation all around,” and expressed that he didn’t believe Richardson should have been arrested. “She has things she needs to work on for herself, of course. But so do I, so do you. Everybody,” he said. Emphasizing his outlook, Coleman added that he chooses to respond with “grace, mercy, and love,” viewing the ordeal as an opportunity to reflect, rather than a setback.

Witnesses reportedly saw Richardson pushing Coleman multiple times as he walked away. Although Coleman declined to press charges or be named a victim, Richardson was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence assault and released from custody on July 28.
