
In an astonishing disclosure, the Federal Board of Revenue's (FBR) procurement plan for the fiscal year 2025-26, revealed on Thursday, shows that Rs180.36 million out of a total of Rs560 million will be spent solely on the purchase of computer stationery.
According to the procurement plan documents released by the FBR, Rs5 million have been earmarked for refreshments, including tea and biscuits served during official meetings.
Fuel for official vehicles will cost the FBR Rs35 million, while more than Rs20 million have been allocated for vehicle maintenance.
Expenditures related to visits by foreign delegations have been budgeted at Rs10 million. Similarly, telephone and trunk calls will cost the FBR Rs16.7 million.
An amount of Rs180.36 million will be spent on the purchase of computer stationery alone. An estimated Rs70 million will be spent on hardware repairs, while Rs19.8 million have been allocated for FBR's security.
