Donald Trump is reportedly “seriously considering” issuing a presidential pardon for Sean “Diddy” Combs, just weeks before the music mogul's sentencing in his federal criminal case.
According to administration sources, discussions inside the White House have intensified since Combs was partially convicted in his New York sex-trafficking trial earlier this month.
Combs, who has been detained since his arrest in September 2024, was convicted on lesser charges related to prostitution but avoided convictions on sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. He is set to be sentenced on October 3 and could face 2–3 years in federal prison, although any final decision would include time already served.
While the White House officially declined to comment on any clemency discussions, insiders claim Trump has moved from casual interest to serious contemplation. This comes as Trump faces mounting pressure from allies and critics amid renewed scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
Combs’ defense team has not been directly involved in the pardon push, though several associates have reportedly lobbied the administration. The rapper’s latest appeal for release, including a $50 million bond offer, remains pending.
Meanwhile, public reactions are mixed. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has openly opposed a pardon, while others claim Combs was treated unfairly. Trump, who once called Diddy a “good friend,” has said he would review the case if he felt “somebody was mistreated.”
With Trump’s MAGA base watching closely and the Epstein scandal resurfacing, the final decision could have major political and legal implications.
