Miley Cyrus has confirmed that she is preparing a tribute to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montana, the Disney Channel series that launched her career in 2006. Speaking on Sirius XM, Cyrus revealed that she intends to “design something really special” to honour the occasion.

The singer and actress reflected on the impact of the series, describing it as the beginning of her public life. “It really was the beginning of all of this,” Cyrus said. “It’s crazy to think that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed.”

Cyrus explained that the character of Hannah Montana has since taken on a nostalgic role for many fans. “I’ve now been integrated into everyone’s life as the character itself,” she added.

While no specific project details have been confirmed, speculation among fans includes the possibility of a tribute concert, a documentary, or limited-edition merchandise. Some have also suggested she may re-record original songs from the series, now that she has the legal ability to do so.

A full cast reunion appears unlikely, with Cyrus’s former co-star Emily Osment previously distancing herself from reprising her role.

Cyrus’s tribute project will coincide with the 2026 anniversary of the show’s debut, which chronicled the double life of Miley Stewart, an ordinary teen with a secret career as pop star Hannah Montana. The series ended in 2011.

In 2024, Cyrus was honoured as a Disney Legend and credited her early career to the character. “This award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing, loyal fans,” she said at the D23 event.
