San Diego Comic-Con 2025 gave fans a first look at Coyote vs. Acme, a hybrid live-action and animation film where Wile E. Coyote launches a lawsuit against the infamous Acme Corporation.

Slated for release in August 2026, the film received an enthusiastic reception after a six-minute exclusive preview was screened.

Directed by Dave Green and featuring Will Forte and Lana Condor, the film blends slapstick humour with a satirical courtroom twist. Wile E. Coyote, long tormented by Acme's unreliable gadgets in his pursuit of the Road Runner, finally takes the company to court.

The unique premise was met with laughter and applause, hinting at its strong potential appeal.

While Coyote vs. Acme was a standout, the convention also honoured director James Gunn, who appeared publicly for the first time since his Superman film grossed over $200 million domestically.

Other highlights included the unveiling of Starfleet Academy, a new Star Trek series starring Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti, and updates to Strange New Worlds, which teased a puppet episode crafted by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

With over 135,000 attendees, Comic-Con 2025 proved a key platform for previewing major upcoming projects, with Coyote vs. Acme standing out as a surprising and clever reinterpretation of a Looney Tunes classic.
