Marvel Studios has confirmed it will not introduce a live-action Miles Morales Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this time, following a request from Sony.
Speaking during a roundtable interview attended by Variety, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige stated that plans for a live-action version of the character are currently “nowhere.”
“We've been told to stay away,” Feige added, indicating that this position is likely to remain in place until the conclusion of Sony’s Spider-Verse trilogy.
The final part of that trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is scheduled for release on June 25 2027, following previous delays.
Fans had speculated that Miles Morales could appear in Tom Holland’s upcoming Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set for release on July 31 2026.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has previously referenced Miles Morales indirectly, with Spider-Man: Homecoming featuring Aaron Davis, played by Donald Glover, who mentions a “nephew” living in New York.
Additionally, Daredevil Born Again briefly mentions an “Officer Morales,” which some fans believe is a nod to Miles’ father.
Feige also confirmed during the same interview that Marvel Studios plans to recast the X-Men when the characters are introduced into the MCU, as part of a broader reset following Avengers: Secret Wars.
For now, fans can continue to see both Peter Parker and Miles Morales in Insomniac’s Spider-Man game series, while a live-action debut for Miles Morales in the MCU will not take place before 2027.
