Morgan Wallen addressed his fans during a concert in Glendale, Arizona, on Friday, offering a light-hearted comment in the wake of the recent affair scandal involving Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s HR chief, Kristin Cabot. Wallen’s remarks came after Coldplay frontman Chris Martin inadvertently revealed the affair during a concert in Boston earlier that week.
“Anybody in here with their side chick or whatever, I think you’re safe here,” Wallen, 32, joked, adding, “I don’t condone cheating … anymore,” to the cheering crowd, per footage shared online. The comment seemed to be a playful nod to the viral incident that had recently captured public attention.
Following the fallout, Astronomer launched an internal investigation into the matter, placing both Byron and Cabot on leave. On Saturday, the company announced that Byron had resigned from his position as CEO.
