CEO Andy Byron investigated after Coldplay video goes viral
Astronomer, the billion-dollar data and AI company, has launched a formal investigation into CEO Andy Byron and Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot after the two were filmed embracing at a Coldplay concert.
The viral video, captured during the band’s “kiss cam” moment at Gillette Stadium near Boston, has sparked widespread speculation of an alleged affair.
The company clarified that Byron’s wife, Alyssa Stoddard, was not at the event and denied the authenticity of unrelated statements circulating online. No other Astronomer employees were identified in the footage.
The incident began circulating after Coldplay frontman Chris Martin jokingly pointed out the couple from the stage, saying, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” The video quickly amassed over 3 million views on TikTok, triggering a wave of online backlash and speculation. Byron’s wife has since deleted her Facebook account, which had been flooded with comments.
Social media users were quick to criticize the executives, with many calling the moment “awkward” and others labeling it “karma at its finest.”
As scrutiny mounts, both Byron and Cabot have yet to issue personal statements. The fallout raises questions about workplace relationships and executive accountability in the tech sector.
