Sindh's district court case management system has been integrated with a digital platform for medical and forensic evidence. The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued a circular notifying all district courts of the development, which is a major development towards judicial reform.
According to the circular, the integration will enable secure archiving and instant access to medico-legal and forensic documents. Through the platform, district courts will now have real-time access to interim and final post-mortem reports, exhumation findings, injury assessments, and medical examinations in sexual assault cases.
Additionally, the system will allow courts to retrieve chemical analysis reports of weapons and vehicles, DNA profiling results, and food adulteration tests.
All reports will be digitally signed and uploaded by authorised medico-legal officers, designated hospitals, and forensic laboratories. Access to download or print sensitive records will be subject to the court approval.
The objective of this integration is to eliminate traditional delays, document tampering, and the loss of critical forensic evidence in judicial proceedings.
