ANP leader Maulana Khan Zeb among three killed in Bajaur shooting

Attack also claims life of his police security officer, Sepahi Sher Zada, while three others sustained injuries

Maulana Khan Zeb, former National Assembly candidate of the Awami National Party (ANP) from Bajaur, and two others were tragically shot dead by unidentified assailants at Shindai Mor, just a few steps from the headquarters of Khar Tehsil, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday.

The attack also claimed the life of his police security officer, Sepahi Sher Zada, and another person, while three others sustained serious injuries. The injured individuals have been identified as Dr Tariq, Shahsawar, and Osman, all of whom are currently receiving medical treatment.

According to the police, Zeb was campaigning for the Bajaur Pasoon when the attack took place. He was actively campaigning for the July 13 Pasoon (uprising) when assailants opened fire at his vehicle.

The incident occurred near the high-security zone at Khar headquarters, which is located next to army and FC camps and close to the official colony wall.

In response to the attack, locals placed Zeb's body at Khar Bazar and began protesting. The funeral will take place on Friday at 11 am in his native village, Nawagai.
