A TikToker known as The Jungle Pups has gone viral after claiming to own the world’s only 24k gold Labubu, sparking debate among viewers questioning its authenticity.
Labubu was created in 2015 by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung as part of a picture book series and is sold through Pop Mart in blind-box packaging. The collectible figures rose in popularity in 2024 when Blackpink’s Lisa and singer Rihanna were seen with them.
In June 2025, The Jungle Pups showcased a 24k gold Labubu on TikTok, claiming it was made by melting gold bars to create the figure, weighing 200g and costing £20,000. “I have the one and only 24k gold Labubu,” she said. “Now, this is real 24k gold. Made in the form of a Labubu.”
She added, “The reason we had one made in 24k gold is because they are going so viral across the internet. We think that what he’s worth will definitely skyrocket.”
After the video gained traction, viewers expressed scepticism about the toy’s authenticity. To address this, she posted further videos using a magnet and a “gold tester” to demonstrate the figure’s material.

On July 7, The Jungle Pups also claimed ownership of additional rare Labubu variants, including emerald, diamond, and pink diamond versions.
To verify these, she used what appeared to be a meat thermometer, which played a ringtone-like sound during the video, leading viewers to question the demonstration.
Labubu figures have gained significant popularity globally, with demand rising to the extent that Pop Mart’s owner became China’s youngest billionaire through sales of the toy.
