Woman among three dead in road accidents

KARACHI:

Two people, including a woman, died in separate traffic accidents across the city.

A motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run accident on Sher Shah Suri Road, within the jurisdiction of Hyderi Market police station. The victim, identified as 57-year-old Shahid Baloch, was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), where he was pronounced dead. Police are investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian, 60-year-old Sakina Siddiq, was hit by a truck in Nusrat Bhutto Colony, within the limits of Manghopir police station. She was also shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH), where she was declared dead. Reportedly, the truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Police took the truck into custody and are searching for the absconding driver.

In another incident, a 25-year-old man, Shehzad, died in a motorcycle collision late Sunday night, near the Baloch Colony flyover on Sharae Faisal. Reportedly, Shehzad was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by another motorcyclist, and died on the spot. His body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital. An individual was taken into custody on suspicion of being involved in the incident, while police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine the circumstances of the crash.
