In a new episode of the Crossover Universe Podcast released on July 4, producer Sev Ohanian offered a behind-the-scenes look at two recent projects: Marvel’s Ironheart and the upcoming series Sinners.

Ironheart concluded its six-episode run on Disney+ earlier this week. The show follows Riri Williams, a teenage inventor stepping into a legacy of her own.

Ohanian described the series as emotionally centered, with a strong focus on character growth. He noted that Riri’s suit was designed to reflect her evolution not just as a hero, but as a person finding her voice.

He also praised the visual direction, saying that the costume design was developed with intention and narrative weight.

When speaking about Sinners, a grounded crime drama, Ohanian revealed that several of the background costumes were originally created for Marvel’s Blade. These unused pieces were repurposed for the new series.

According to him, the decision made sense both practically and creatively, as the costumes matched the gritty tone of Sinners without needing to build entirely from scratch.

Ohanian acknowledged the contrast between the two projects, one high-tech and hopeful, the other stripped-down and morally gray. He credited strong teams for helping him navigate the demands of each.

He also commented on Marvel’s growing use of streaming as a space for deeper storytelling, noting that it’s now central to long-form character development.

While details on Sinners remain minimal, Ohanian said the series will offer something distinct from traditional Marvel fare.
