Scooter Braun has officially stepped down as CEO of Hybe America, transitioning into a senior advisory role and joining the Hybe Board of Directors. The change ends his five-year tenure at the helm of Hybe’s U.S. operations following the company’s acquisition of his firm, Ithaca Holdings, in 2021.

The announcement was made to staff on Monday, where Braun, appearing remotely, confirmed the move had been planned “for quite some time.” While stepping back from daily leadership, he will continue contributing to projects of girl group Katseye and assisting Hybe artists.

“Being a part of Hybe and witnessing its remarkable growth has been one of the inspiring chapters of my professional journey,” Braun said. “Chairman Bang is a true visionary and a musical genius.”

Chairman Bang Si-Hyuk praised Braun’s contributions, stating he had been “a visionary executive” and “a true catalyst for cultural exchange.”

Braun’s exit comes amid reported financial fallout involving Justin Bieber, his former client. After the cancellation of Bieber’s Justice tour in 2022, the artist was reportedly left owing AEG over $20 million. Braun’s company is said to have helped cover the amount through a low-interest loan and brokered a $200 million deal for Bieber’s songwriting catalogue.

Though the financial settlement is reportedly resolved, the personal relationship between Braun and Bieber remains strained.

His exit also comes just as BTS prepares for a major full-group comeback in spring 2026, following the members’ completion of military service. With Braun stepping into an advisory role, leadership shifts to Isaac Lee as BTS begins recording new music in July and preps for a global tour.

Lee, formerly chairman of Hybe Latin America, will succeed Braun as chairman and CEO of Hybe Americas, overseeing key labels including Big Machine and Quality Control.
