Teen bride tortured, murdered at home

A 17-year-old Afghan bride, identified as Aram Bibi, was found murdered inside her home in the Afghan Basti area. The deceased was a mother to a baby girl, and her body, reportedly, bore signs of severe physical assault.

SHO Gulshan-e-Maymar, Inspector Ghaffar Korai, reported that Aram Bibi's body was discovered just as her family members were quietly preparing for her burial. However, police intervened, halted the burial, and took the body into custody.

Investigators allege that Aram Bibi was killed by her husband Muhammad Afghani, her father Yasin, and other suspects, who beat her mercilessly. Yasin was arrested at the scene, but Afghani, and other accused, remain at large. Inspector Korai reported that the motive behind the killing appears to be a domestic dispute turned deadly.
