The FBI has identified and investigated a Texas man, James W. Burger, after receiving a report that he allegedly made threats to commit violent acts while using the online platform Roblox, according to a court affidavit filed on May 16, 2025.

According to Special Agent Carletta Carter’s affidavit, authorities were alerted by a Roblox user who claimed to have witnessed a possible domestic terrorist threat being discussed in-game. The suspect, using the username "Crazz3pain," reportedly made threats to attack a Christian concert or event.

With billing information tied to the "Crazz3pain" account, Roblox provided details that allowed the FBI to trace the activity to Burger’s residence in Texas. A search warrant was executed at the address, where agents learned that a family member had installed a keylogger on a shared computer. The family member later turned over logs showing activity linked to “RobloxPlayerBeta.exe,” further connecting Burger to the account.

During a voluntary interview, Burger admitted to making comments similar to those in the screenshots shared by the witness. He also provided investigators with login access to the "Crazz3pain" account.

He stated that his intentions were to “[G]et the hell out of the US and…if I can’t…then, martyrdom or bust.”

Further examination of Burger’s iPhone revealed a note explaining how to avoid leaving behind DNA or fingerprints, as well as internet searches related to firearms, ammunition, festival events, and types of knives.

Agent Carter also noted that Burger had taken screenshots of previous bans under the "Crazz3pain" username, suggesting a pattern of violations on the platform.

The affidavit concluded with a recommendation for Burger’s arrest. The case highlights how platforms like Roblox are being scrutinized by law enforcement as potential spaces for identifying real-world threats.
