THATTA:

An awareness session was organised in Makli by the Sindh Human Rights Department in collaboration with the Legal Aid Society (LAS) to educate the public, especially women, on laws against child marriage and domestic violence.

The event aimed to raise awareness about women's legal rights, available protection mechanisms, and the free legal assistance being provided by the LAS.

Speakers informed participants that the LAS, founded by Justice (R) Nasir Aslam Zahid, has been actively providing free legal aid to both women and men across various districts of Sindh. Altaf Hussain Tanyo appealed to the Legal Aid teams from Karachi and Hyderabad to establish local offices in Thatta and Sujawal for timely legal assistance. He announced that a delegation will meet Justice Zahid to pursue this proposal.
