Four Pakistani players — Sahibzada Farhan, Mohammad Nawaz, Khawaja Nafay, and Saud Shakeel — are all set to take part in the upcoming Guyana Global Super League (GSL), scheduled to be held from July 10 to 18.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to allow the players to participate in the T20 tournament. Saud Shakeel will represent the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while Mohammad Nawaz and Sahibzada Farhan have been picked up by the Hobart Hurricanes. Khawaja Nafay has also been approved to participate, although the franchise he will play for is yet to be announced.
The Global Super League, hosted in Guyana, will feature international T20 stars and is expected to be a high-profile event in the cricket calendar.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's star batter Babar Azam has been signed by the Sydney Sixers for Big Bash League (BBL) Season 15, becoming the team's international signing ahead of the official BBL draft. Babar, known for his consistency and elegant stroke play, has scored over 10,000 international runs and is considered one of the best batters in the world today.
As per BBL rules, each team can sign one overseas player before the draft, which is scheduled for Thursday, June 19.
Cricket Australia has also released the first list of overseas players for the upcoming draft, which includes top Pakistani names like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Rizwan. Other international stars on the list include England's Sam Curran and Alex Hales, New Zealand pacers Lockie Ferguson and Tim Southee, Sri Lanka's Kusal Perera, and West Indies' young fast bowler Shamar Joseph.
