Police in Hyderabad appear to be on the target of terrorists as unidentified assailants hurled a locally made petrol bomb at the Rapid Response Force (RRF) office in Qasimabad in the early hours of Tuesday. It was a second such incident in a week.
Fortunately, the device exploded outside the premises, causing no casualties or property damage, but sparking panic in the area.
According to police, the incident occurred on the night between Monday and Tuesday when unidentified men on a motorcycle attempted to attack the RRF office with an improvised petrol bomb. The explosive landed outside the building and detonated with a loud bang. Following the blast, heavy contingents of police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.
Police collected forensic evidence from the site and have begun reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations. A police spokesperson confirmed that no loss of life or property occurred, and that an investigation has been launched from multiple angles.
