BTS member Jungkook officially completed his mandatory military service on June 11, 2025, and greeted fans for the first time since his enlistment.

Alongside fellow BTS member Jimin, Jungkook was discharged from the South Korean army after serving 18 months as an active duty soldier in the 5th Infantry Division's artillery brigade.

Following the completion of their discharge procedures, Jungkook and Jimin traveled to Yeoncheon Public Stadium in Gyeonggi Province, where they met with fans and media without a formal event.

Jungkook expressed his gratitude to fans, saying, “Thank you for welcoming us after our discharge.” Appearing visibly shy in front of the cameras, he added, “It’s been so long since I’ve been on camera that I didn’t wear any makeup. I’m embarrassed and don’t know what to say.”

He went on to thank his fellow servicemen and officers, stating, “I want to thank our seniors who served before us, our juniors still in the army, our peers who discharged earlier, and all the officers who took care of us.”

Ending his message on a hopeful note, Jungkook hinted at future plans for reconnecting with fans. “A lot has happened, and slowly we will share it with you,” he said, promising an upcoming live broadcast.

Fans can expect Jungkook to gradually return to the spotlight, sharing stories from his time in the military and resuming his artistic activities.
