HYDERABAD:

Temporary butchers who prepared minced meat and trotters saw booming business during the Eidul Azha holidays, while sellers of skewers, stoves, and coal also enjoyed brisk sales.

People typically host dinners for close relatives and friends after sacrificing animals on Eidul Azha, preparing a variety of meat-based dishes.

To meet this demand, temporary stalls and carts were set up in various areas of Hyderabad and Latifabad for meat mincing. Citizens could get their meat minced by machine for Rs50 per kilogram, while handmade mince cost Rs100 per kilogram.

Similarly, stalls were established across the city for preparing and cutting animal trotters. These stalls were equipped with wooden or coal stoves, and in some cases, gas stoves. The trotters were first cleaned through a specific burning process and then cut. Charges ranged from Rs400 to Rs500 for four goat trotters, and Rs500 to Rs800 for four cow trotters.

Meanwhile, with barbecue gatherings being a popular Eid tradition, several stalls sold barbecue essentials. Iron skewers were priced between Rs20 to Rs80 each, stoves of various sizes ranged from Rs800 to Rs3,000, and coal was sold at Rs100 per kilogram.

The Eid festivities brought significant seasonal income for these vendors, who set up temporary businesses to cater to the city's culinary celebrations.
