Football: Adebayor insists he is Real material

Mourinho had suggested during the summer that a permanent deal was in the offing but didnt materialise.

LONDON: Emmanuel Adebayor claims that he would have joined Real Madrid by now if the club manager Jose Mourinho had total control over transfers. Adebayor, who was unable to retain a starting-place in the Manchester City line-up, spent time on loan at Madrid earlier this year. Mourinho had suggested during the summer that a permanent deal was in the offing, but in the end, the transfer did not materialise. “I get on very well Mourinho but Madrid is one of the biggest clubs,” said Adebayor. “There’s not just one man deciding. If it was just Mourinho, I would be in Madrid now.”
