Football: ‘Anelka likely to make exit’

LONDON: LONDON. Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that striker Nicolas Anelka looks certain to leave the club next summer after the player himself indicated his intentions for a departure. Anelka, in the final year of his contract at Chelsea, is prepared to run down his current deal with the club. When asked if the France international would be offered a new contract, Villas-Boas said, “It might not be the player’s expectancy to renew.” Anelka joined Chelsea for £15m in January 2008 from Bolton.
