RAWALPINDI:

In Rawat area of Rawalpindi, a man brutally murdered his wife by slitting her throat with a sharp weapon, police sources said on Wednesday.

According to Adam Khan, the father of the victim, 25-year-old Zardana Bibi was married four years ago to Nazar Khan from Sarai Alamgir.

The couple had a three-year-old daughter. Nazar Khan, who works as an excavator machine driver, lives at the in-laws' house. Six days ago, Nazar Khan returned to the Rawat home and stayed there.

On the night of the incident, as usual, the family went to sleep in their rooms. Suddenly, sounds of crying and commotion from the daughter and granddaughter were heard. When Adam Khan went to check with his sons, they saw Nazar Khan holding a knife. He had forced Zardana Bibi to lie on the charpoy and was repeatedly stabbing her in the neck

. Before anyone could intervene, Nazar Khan slit Zardana's throat and threatened them, saying that if anyone came near, he would kill them too. After the attack, he fled the scene. Zardana died on the spot.

The father alleged that Nazar Khan killed his daughter for unknown reasons. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
