LAHORE:

Lahore DIG Operations has ordered punishment of 12 personnel during an orderly room hearing held to address show-cause notices and appeals submitted by police officers and staff.

Decisions were made following inquiries into complaints of abuse of authority, negligence, and corruption. DIG Faisal Kamran stated that violations of the law and abuse of power will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

He emphasised that the impression of favoritism among fellow officers has been eradicated in the Lahore Police Operations Wing.

Over the past year, 448 personnel have been penalised. He further added that corrupt personnel are enemies of both the department and the public. A few bad apples will not be allowed to tarnish the reputation of a 35,000-strong force.

According to the DIG Operations, accountability is essential for building a strong and effective force. There will be no leniency for negligence in duty, and strict accountability will follow any lapses. Honest officers are the pride of the department and will continue to be encouraged and supported at every level.
