The convoy of the First Lady MNA Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was attacked with stones and sticks near the M9 Motorway's toll plaza in Jamshoro on Friday however all the passengers remained unscathed.

The police later booked more than six dozen people in an FIR besides arresting a few of them.

A group of nationalist workers staged a sit-in protest near the toll plaza, blocking movement of the vehicles. The convoy was travelling from Karachi to Shaheed Benazirabad. Witnessing the blockade, the convoy's security and the local police approached the protesters, requesting them to let their vehicles pass through.

However, the protesters reportedly flatly refused. Later, the convoy was diverted to a patch of the unpaved land along the road to take a little detour from the toll gates. However, the charged protesters surrounded the vehicles, pelting stones and hitting them with sticks, chanting anti-government slogans.

The vehicles, nonetheless, managed to move through the crowd without hurting anyone. The Jamshoro police later lodged an FIR on the state's complaint at Jamshoro police station against 16 named and 60 unidentified persons.

The FIR was registered on the complaint of ASI Ashfaq Ahmed Brahmani. The police later raided some areas and reportedly picked up some of the accused persons.
