The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Development Working Party has approved the PC-II for feasibility studies and detailed designs for a modern theme park, an international-standard Ferris wheel, and a cable car system showcasing scenic views around Islamabad.
The approval came during the recently-held 75th meeting of the CDA Development Working Party, chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa at CDA Headquarters. Representatives from the Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Interior, Finance Division, Ministry of Climate Change, CDA board members, and other relevant departments attended the session.
Key measures were approved to enhance Islamabad's tourism infrastructure and recreational facilities. The CDA chairman directed the initiation of projects aimed at positioning Islamabad as a top tourist destination, catering to over two million residents and an increasing number of domestic and international tourists.
He stated that these projects reflect the CDA's commitment to providing quality recreational amenities alongside essential urban services.
The initiatives are intended to establish Islamabad as an international tourism hub, create employment opportunities, boost local businesses, and ease traffic congestion through environmentally friendly solutions like the cable car system.
