Child Custody: Court summons father, infant

ISLAMABAD:

In a child custody case, the city district court on Saturday directed the Koral Police Station House Officer (SHO) to produce the infant and his father in court on Monday.

Addition Session Judge Wajhat Hussain issued warrants to the Koral Police SHO to search the house of the accused, Shamsheer Haider. The SHO was ordered by the court  to present Haider  and the minor child before  the court on the next hearing.

The mother, Nighat Yasmin, a resident of Shahzad Town, had earlier filed a petition with the court alleging that her husband kidnapped their son from her mother’s house in April this year.

The mother also contended that all efforts by her family to secure the child’s return were futile as the boy’s father did not pay heed to any of their requests.

She  said that her family had tried their best to negotiate terms with the father, Haider, who has illegal custody of the child.
