A 26-year-old man was killed in the Shalimar area when a crane hit him while he was crossing a road.
According to police and Edhi Foundation officials, the victim, identified as Awais, died on the spot. The driver fled from the spot after the collision.
Police and Edhi volunteers transported the body to a morgue for legal formalities. The police launched an investigation, reviewing CCTV camera footage to identify and track down the driver involved in the accident.
The Lahore traffic SP emphasized the need for stricter enforcement of road safety regulations for heavy vehicles. "We are analyzing CCTV footage and will soon apprehend the culprit," a police spokesperson stated.
Meanwhile, at least 12 people died, whereas 1,495 were injured in 1,327 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
