Justin Bieber is under fire after sharing a controversial Instagram caption about wife Hailey Bieber, posted on the same day she appeared on the cover of Vogue. The caption, which reflected on a past argument in which he told Hailey she’d "never be on the cover of Vogue," was intended as a public apology—but it quickly drew criticism from fans who saw it as poorly timed and self-centered.
In the now-edited caption, Bieber wrote: “Yo, this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight. I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes I know, so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected. I thought I gotta get even.” He continued, “I think as we mature we realize that we’re not helping anything by getting even—we’re honestly just prolonging what we really want which is intimacy and connection.”
He ended the post by saying, “So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.”
While some fans appreciated his honesty, others criticized him for overshadowing Hailey’s achievement with a negative anecdote. Comments ranged from, “Some things are best kept to yourself,” to, “Congrats on taking one of Hailey’s biggest moments and making it about you.”
While the Instagram post sparked mixed reactions, Hailey herself opened up about even more personal experiences in her accompanying Vogue interview. The model shared details about the traumatic birth of their son, Jack Blues, in August 2024, describing it as “the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” She also revealed suffering a postpartum hemorrhage and acknowledged how difficult it’s been to adjust to a new version of herself while navigating public scrutiny.
Despite the backlash, Bieber expressed heartfelt support for his wife in the interview, emailing the journalist: “The smartest thing I’ve ever done was marry Hailey.” He added praise for her ability to balance motherhood, business, and style with grace.
Together, their candid reflections offer a rare, unfiltered glimpse into the complexities of love, fame, and resilience in the public eye.
