Alex Fine, husband of Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, has spoken out in a statement praising his wife’s “strength and bravery” following her emotional four-day testimony in the federal sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Ventura detailed years of physical, sexual and psychological abuse, recounting what she described as “freak offs” and a 2018 assault that left her feeling suicidal.

“I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass,” Fine said. “You did not break her spirit nor her smile… All I have done is love her as she has loved me.”

Fine and Ventura began dating while she was in an on-off relationship with Combs. They married in 2019 and are expecting their third child. He has been present throughout Ventura’s court appearance, showing consistent support.

In his statement, Fine addressed the public perception that he played a rescuing role. “I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie.”

Ventura also shared a message through her lawyer, describing the process as “extremely challenging,” yet “remarkably empowering” and “healing.” She added, “I hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice to other survivors.”

Fine concluded that they would not comment further, calling this the end of a “horrific chapter.”
