Man poisons wife to death over 'infertility'

In collusion with hakeem, accused brings wrong medicine for victim

A man, with the help of a hakeem, allegedly poisoned and killed his wife due to her inability to bear children.

Police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused. According to the FIR lodged with Jhumra Police by Naseem Bibi, a resident of Chak 150 GB Chiniot, her daughter, 22-year-old Sana Noor, was married to Abdul Shakoor. Sometime after the marriage, her son-in-law began taunting her daughter for not being able to conceive.

He said he would get medicine from a herbalist, Yasin, son of Allah Yar, a resident of 106 GB, who is a local herbalist (hakeem). In collusion with the hakeem, the accused deliberately brought her the wrong medicine.

After consuming the medicine, her daughter's health deteriorated. In November 2024, the accused left her daughter at home and fled.

During her treatment, it was revealed that the medicine had resulted in her kidneys failure.

This was confirmed in the medical report by doctors.

She further stated that her son-in-law, along with his brother Qudoos and the quack, deliberately gave her daughter poisonous medicine, leading to her death.

Meanwhile, cases have been registered against two candidates and their supporters for forging ASF recruitment.

According to the police report, the cases registered with the Thikriwala Police by Sub-Inspector Farrukh Ali Rehman have stated that interviews were being held for the recruitment of Corporals in the ASF at the ASF Garrison Airport when Inzamam Hussain son of Liaquat Ali, resident of 147 GB, came to the interview in the place of candidate Abdul Malik son of Wali Muhammad with a fake identity card in the name of Abdul Malik.

During verification, a fake identity card was recovered from it and handed over to the Thikriwala Police. While in place of candidate Kamran son of Muhammad Sher, Muhammad Imran son of Sher, resident of 580 GB, tried to give an interview by forging Kamran's photo on the identity card, on which the police registered cases against the four accused under sections.
