Fortnite removed from iOS worldwide after Apple rejects Epic Games' latest App Store submission

Fortnite has been pulled from iOS devices globally after Apple rejected the latest submission from Epic Games to the App Store. This includes regions like the European Union, where the game had just made its return.
In a post on X, Epic Games confirmed that Fortnite will remain unavailable until Apple reverses the block. The setback is a major blow to the game's iOS comeback, which had been anticipated this week.
Apple has blocked our Fortnite submission so we cannot release to the US App Store or to the Epic Games Store for iOS in the European Union. Now, sadly, Fortnite on iOS will be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it.
Epic CEO Tim Sweeney had previously stated that Fortnite was scheduled to return for U.S. users, and efforts were underway through their EU account to reintroduce the game.
However, Apple’s decision to reject the app has thrown those plans into uncertainty. Sweeney also confirmed that a planned Thursday update was delayed due to the ongoing review process by Apple.
The game’s removal has reignited tensions between the two companies, which have been engaged in a long-standing dispute over App Store policies and developer rights.
Fortnite’s global player base on iOS is once again unable to access the game, despite Epic’s recent progress in specific regions. For now, there is no confirmed timeline for its return.
