ISLAMABAD:

India has barred 500 Sikh pilgrims from visiting Pakistan for the annual commemoration of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's death anniversary, scheduled for June 30, 2025 -— a move that has once again raised concerns over religious freedom.

According to security sources, the Indian government has imposed a ban on Sikh pilgrims entering Pakistan since May 7, 2025, to undermine religious sentiments among the Sikh community and create hostility toward Pakistan.

The sources further revealed that not only were pilgrims prevented from participating in the event, but the Kartarpur Corridor also remains closed.
