LODHRAN:

The Crime Control Department (CCD) of Lodhran claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal, identified as Nizamuddin alias "32-bore", who was wanted in over 40 cases of robbery, burglary, and theft across the region.

According to police officials, a CCD team was conducting a targeted operation late at night on Lal Kamal Shah Road, in the Saddar police station limits, when they attempted to stop three suspicious individuals riding a motorcycle.

The suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the police in an attempt to flee.

In response, the CCD personnel fired warning shots in self-defence.

During the brief exchange, one suspect was injured - reportedly hit by the gunfire of his own accomplices - and was apprehended on the spot. The other two suspects managed to escape under the cover of darkness.

The arrested individual identified himself as Nizamuddin, infamously known as "32-bore", and was found in possession of a 30-bore pistol. He was immediately shifted to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Police said a background check confirmed that Nizamuddin was involved in 41 criminal cases including robbery, burglary, and theft. Authorities hailed the arrest as a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks in the district.

Officials reiterated that ensuring public safety and eliminating crime remain top priorities for the Crime Control Department in Lodhran. Search operations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
