Additional Deputy Commissioner Raj Kumar Thapa was killed in a Pakistani strike in the Rajouri area of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), amid rising cross-border hostilities.

Thapa’s death occurred during a precision operation under Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, Pakistan’s military response to recent Indian missile and drone attacks, according to security sources.

Pakistani military officials stated that Thapa, while serving in a senior civil role, acted as a facilitator for militant groups supported by the Indian government.

They further said that he had maintained ties with these elements and that he frequently used to attend high-level briefings of the Indian military.

Thapa was widely perceived by Kashmiri Muslims as an enforcer of state repression, with multiple allegations tying him to counterinsurgency operations targeting civilians.

The Pakistan Army described the strike as a targeted response to Indian aggression and cross-border provocations.

Earlier, Pakistan has initiated retaliatory action in response to the ongoing Indian aggression in the wee hours of Saturday, according to security sources. The operation has been officially named Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos

As part of the operation, all bases identified as launch points for attacks on Pakistani civilians and mosques are being specifically targeted.

Multiple strategic targets are being engaged simultaneously as the operation progresses, security sources confirmed.

They stated that Pakistan launched its Al-Fatah missile as part of the ongoing retaliatory operation, naming it in honour of the Pakistani children who lost their lives in recent Indian aggression.

They added that Pakistan has neither forgotten nor will ever forget the sacrifice of these innocent children, who were martyred during cross-border attacks by Indian forces earlier this week.
