Various political parties have denounced registration of cases against anti-canals protesters after the end of the sit-in.
Sindh Hari Committee and Communist Party of Pakistan Sindh chapter have strongly condemned the registration of cases and harassment of lawyers, women, and political figures who participated in the Baberloi Bypass sit-in against the controversial canal project.
Sindh Hari Committee President Prof Mir Manwar Talpur, Vice President Mustafa Rajpar, and Communist Party of Pakistan Sindh Committee Secretary Comrade Iqbal in a joint statement, the leaders termed these actions a disgraceful move by the Sindh government. They pointed out that the Chief Minister of Sindh had publicly acknowledged the legitimacy of the protest and stated that it should continue - making the current registration of cases against supporting citizens nothing but a retaliatory tactic that further tarnishes the government's image.
The leaders affirmed that the struggle against the controversial canal projects would continue until all corporate farming initiatives are cancelled.
