Justin Bieber and Timothée Chalamet skip Met Gala 2025 to watch game as partners attend solo

The 2025 Met Gala saw a notable trend as two high-profile guests, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber, walked the red carpet without their partners, who opted to spend the evening at home. Timothée Chalamet and Justin Bieber each skipped the annual fashion event in favour of more low-key plans.

Chalamet watched the New York Knicks play the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals from home.

He shared Instagram Stories of himself watching the game on an iPad, surrounded by friends, just as Jenner arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a Ferragamo gown. Earlier that day, Jenner hinted at his plans with bikini selfies wearing a Knicks cap.

Meanwhile, Justin Bieber also chose to forgo the gala, staying home as wife Hailey Bieber made a solo appearance.

He shared a video of himself watching the NHL game between Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers, while Hailey was photographed heading to the Met in her gala attire.

Justin last attended the Met Gala in 2021 and rarely participates in red carpet events.

Jenner and Chalamet, who have never walked a red carpet together, continue to navigate their public appearances individually. Meanwhile, Bieber’s absence was consistent with his low-profile approach in recent years, which his representatives maintain reflects a focus on music, family, and health.
