Sofia Richie made a striking return to the Met Gala red carpet on Monday night, embodying the event’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme in a minimalist yet refined look designed by Tommy Hilfiger.
The 26-year-old model wore a sleek satin slip gown with a dramatic bow and a back cutout, a modern nod to the classic white tie tuxedo. The perfectly tailored silhouette aligned with the night’s tribute to the influence of Black tailoring and style.
She completed the look with a polished updo, neutral-toned makeup, and diamond jewelry—hallmarks of her quiet luxury aesthetic. This year’s appearance follows a relatively low-profile period after the birth of her daughter, Eloise Grainge, in 2024. Richie and her husband, music executive Elliot Grainge, welcomed their first child just a year after their wedding in the South of France.
Her return to the Met steps was met with enthusiasm, especially given her track record at fashion’s biggest night. Richie made her Met Gala debut in 2015 in a Stella McCartney gown, and attended again in 2016 and 2017 wearing bold Topshop looks, including a leopard print dress and a plunging metallic number.
Though she’s kept a quieter public presence recently, Richie hasn’t stepped away from fashion. Earlier this year, she appeared at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a Giorgio Armani peplum gown and has continued working behind the scenes, creating collections for Tommy Hilfiger and launching a kids’ line for Amazon.
With her effortless elegance and tailored tribute to the theme, Richie once again proved she’s a modern icon of understated glamour.
