A man allegedly shot dead his wife and son-in-law over doubts of the two having illicit relations in Sinjhoro, Sanghar district, on Sunday.
According to Sinjhoro police, three-year-old son of slain Nadeem Jamali was also injured in the firing because he was sleeping with his father when the suspect Bakhar Bhand opened fire.
The SHO Muhammad Ali Zardari informed that Bhand first killed his son in law and later gunned down his wife Ameeran Bhand. The suspect later escaped with his accomplices.
The police shifted the dead bodies and the injured child to a local hospital from where the injured Naeem was referred to the Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad.
Jamali, who lived in Karachi, was visiting his in-laws. Police said that Jamali's sister was also married to a son of Bakhar Bhand.
The local people told the police that the Bhand family hailed from Jacobabad district and that they shifted to Sinjhoro after the 2010-11 floods. Police are yet to nab the suspect and register an FIR. The dead bodies were handed over to the respective families after postmortem for the burial rites.
