As India continues to draw the digital shutters on prominent Pakistani social media accounts in the wake of the deadly Pahalgam incident, the Narendra Modi-led Indian government on Sunday also blocked access to former prime minister Imran Khan and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on X (formerly Twitter).

Visitors to Bilawal's profile are now met with a terse message: "@BBhuttoZardari has been withheld in IN in response to a legal demand".

The link that follows leads to a platform-generated notice devoid of specifics.

Reacting to the development, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Central Spokesperson Shazia Marri condemned the move.

"This action reflects the Indian government's desperation and fear of the truth," she noted.

She pointed out that instead of providing evidence, India has focused on silencing strong voices speaking the truth at the international level.

"Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has consistently demanded that the Modi government either provide evidence regarding the Pahalgam incident or support an international investigation."

She further said that the Modi regime was attempting to conceal the truth and divert public attention from its failures. "Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also highlighted that the Modi government is covering up its failures and shifting focus away from the grave human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir."

"We all know how human rights are being trampled in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir," she added.

Referring to the 2002 Gujarat pogrom under the now premier Modi's rule in the Indian state, Marri said that Bilawal has exposed the "Butcher of Gujarat" before the international media and the world.

"No matter how much the Modi government tries to suppress the truth, it will find its way, and the true face of the Indian government has become clear to the world."

The PPP leader further pointed out that Modi himself was responsible for the killing of innocent people in Pahalgam, and his attempts to portray himself as a victim will fail.

Even the people of India are raising questions about the government's security failures—questions the Modi administration has completely failed to answer, she asserted.

She urged the international community to take notice of India's state-sponsored terrorism and the oppression of Muslims, Christians and other minorities, adding that it must boycott the "Butcher of Gujarat" on a global level.

"Modi's regime cannot escape the voices of truth and justice, which will continue to follow him. The people of Pakistan and all national forces stand united against India's nefarious designs," she stressed.

It is pertinent to note that the clampdown on social media accounts comes hot on the heels of India's broader effort to muzzle what it labels "anti-India misinformation," which recently saw 16 Pakistani YouTube and Facebook channels, including Express News, taken off the radar for Indian users.

Even Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's official YouTube channel hasn't escaped the digital axe.
